Zoo Season

One of my favorite activities to do with the boys is going to the zoo. Fresh air, picnics, running around, strolling, and of course the animals. We are there at least once a week when the weather is nice. On our recent trip we spent a good amount of our time in the Northwest Passage(sea lions, polar bears, eagles, and so on). Trey and Robb had so much fun playing in the canoe.

And Trey loved watching the sea lions through the circle, glass window that jets into the sea lions pool. He crawled around inside while I fed Robb his bottle. He loved it until right after I got this picture a sea lion dive bombed the window. Trey jumped from there into my arms. We were at the zoo about a week later, and Trey wants nothing to do with sitting on that glass. I think we may just watch from a distance for a bit.

Robb really does do other things besides eat. I will be better about posting some of his other activities. But he is really cracking us up with the amount and kinds of food he will eat. It has almost gotten to be a game, "Let's see if Robb will eat this." It reminds me of Mikey in the Life cereal commercial from when I was little (he likes it, he likes it). Well so far Robb likes it all!!

Good Friends

Since Trey's 3rd birthday is coming up this weekend, I have been looking through pictures for his school birthday poster. We have made countless, wonderful memories in just a few short years. I will post after Trey's birthday with details from my sweet boy. But I had to put these pictures up. When I look at these pictures next to each other it makes me smile...the kind of smile that makes you tear up too. Happy 3rd Birthday T-Mac, Whitty, and The Thrill!!!!

Bean Boy

Black Beans!!!! Robb loves them. He gets them all over himself...from the tip of his toes to the tip top of his head.

Bouncy Boys

Trey and Robb's favorite thing to do after bath...bounce in Robb's crib. This is usually done in a diaper and underwear, but I thought I would save those pictures for future embarrassment. Last night they got new matching pjs. Robb looks like such a big boy in his shorts and t-shirt, and Trey thought it was hilarious to have Robb match him. Usually Trey is jumping and Robb is looking at him with his "wow my big brother is cool" eyes.

Are You Ready?

We sure are...

The Grove Bowl was Saturday, and it was the perfect day to spend playing in Oxford and watching the Rebs win!!!! Preston went with us, and Trey loves to be with his cousin. He was quite the copy cat kid all day mimicking Preston and running around with him like they are the same age (instead of close to 10 years apart). It was Robb's first Ole Miss game, and he loved all the action. He was thrilled watching everything around him. He also loved crawling around the Grove and eating throughout the game. There was an older couple sitting behind us. They got so tickled watching Robb dance when the music would come on. He is such a charmer. Trey got a new visor for the season and said he looks like Phil Michelson and Uncle Frat:) It was one of those days you wish you could rewind and do again. Hotty Toddy!!!!

Fun Food

We have had a busy day. Trey woke up a little on the late side and asked if we could go get pancakes at Juniper's Brother (what he calls brother junipers). We were meeting friends at My Big Backyard so we didn't have time so I made him fun pancakes. The simplest shape I could think of was Mickey Mouse. He was super excited and cleaned his plate.

After a fun morning with some of our favorite friends at My Big Backyard, Robb napped and Trey "rested." His rest included watching some of Cars and then singing some songs and getting me to record them. I need to find out how to post videos....anyone want to give a quick tutorial?
BeBe came over and played with Robb while Trey ran around in the sprinkler in his underwear--again need video help!!
Trey called Gee and Poppy during rest and asked them if they wanted to go to Hubachi(I know it is mispelled, it is how Trey says it:) They did so we went to ATan. This is the first I have mentioned how much Robb loves to eat. Ever since he started table food, he wants it all!! We have not found anything the boy does not love. Hubachi was no exception. We laughed at how cute he looked as he carefully got an end of a noodle in his mouth and nibbled it through his front teeth. Poppy said he looked like a little bird. It was definately cute....

Working in Arkansas

Trey LOVES to play make believe. It is so fun to listen and play along. He is sometimes different family members, sometimes Lightening McQueen, sometimes Rich (the drummer from Imagination Movers), sometimes his teachers, and the list goes on. My favorite is when he plays like he is Will. He "exercises" like Will, he "grills" like Will, he "works" on the computer like Will, and so on....on this particular day he was pretending to be Will and the conversation went something like this:
Trey-"Mommy I have to go work in Arkansas today." comes over kisses me and says, "I love you Sweetie, have a good day."
me-"Have a good day. I will miss you while you're gone."
Trey-as he waves to Will and Robb and leaves the room, "OK boys I love you and be good for mommy while I'm at work."
While he saw this as an everyday encounter, I teared up to hear him say it. It is so sweet that he picks up on the kind things Will says as he leaves the house. He is a blessed, little fellow to have such a great dad, and we are tremendously blessed to have him and Robb.

Easter

Our family had a wonderful Easter.
Church and time with extended family=a great day
Leading up to the big day, I got to help with Trey's school Easter party, we had many Easter egg hunts(Trey found two golden eggs!!), and most importantly we spent a lot of time together.

Spring has Sprung

There are few better things this side of Heaven than spring in Memphis. After the few months of being stuck inside, everyone moves outside. The parks, zoo, and playgrounds are packed. The boys are enjoying playing outside all day. We picnic, blow bubbles, dig in dirt, splash in puddles, play with friends, and my favorite part...playing outside after dinner. There is something so great about playing with the kids, visiting with neighbors, and watching the sun go down. I know I will be one of the first saying it is too hot in a couple of weeks, but for now come on over and play!!!!

Here They Are

I have held off blogging. But with out of town family and friends (and ones in town that do not get enough of us), I feel like now is the time to get connected. Also, a friend that is a new blogger said it is a way to remember the little things that are going on in our oh, so hectic lives. So for those of you out there that want to see what we do...here it is.

I grew up with 5 sisters, went to an all girls school, and taught at an all girls school. And now I have an amazing husband and two, wonderful sons. I am surrounded by boys. It is fantastic and fun...so as the blog is titled, I will share my life with boys!!
