Hilary's lakehouse

We had so much fun on the 4th of July at Hilary's lakehouse (what Trey call Horseshoe Lake). I have over 100 pictures from the weekend so I decided to have a top 10 list of our favorite lake activities.

Top 10 Reasons we love Hilary's lakehouse!!

10.) Beads.

We watched the boat parade from the dock. Trey and Robb are bead magnets, so we caught lots.

9.) Chores

I know this sounds strange, but Bruce gave Trey the responsibility of putting up the silverware after the dishwasher was done. He loved helping out...not sure this will transfer to home.

8.) Fishing

I do not have a picture, but Trey loved going fishing at Bruce's hunting camp with Will and Bruce.

7.) Sleeping on the Boat

I have not met a baby yet who does not fall asleep on the boat. Robb tried to stay awake but slipped into a deep sleep right after this picture was taken.

6.) Driving the Boat

I'm not sure who has more fun on the boat, Bruce or the kids?

5.) Swimming in the lake

4.) Splashing

A baby pool on the dock. You can tell Hilary has done this before...

3.) Tubing

Trey was a little hesitant to jump on the paparazzi tube after watching Bruce throwing people off but once he did it he loved it. (well, he liked it with the potential to love it next time)

2.) Entourage

Trey was surrounded by 6-8 17 year old girls the entire weekend. He affectionately calls them "his girls." What's not to love about that!!

and the #1 reason we love Hilary's lakehouse...

Relaxing

... a picture really is worth a thousand words!!!!

Down on the Farm

Last week we headed to Millington with the Stockburgers to pick peaches and blackberries. After a quick shoe change for Trey-thank you Ms. Jill...we had so much fun. So the peaches were too hard to bring home the kids loved walking through the rows of trees looking for them. And we actually found a few ripe ones. Then we headed to the blackberry bushes. We found lots. Jones Orchard grows things year round, so I know we will go back for other seasons.

And of course our sweet babies were there too...

When we got home Trey and I made a blackberry cobbler. While Robb did not get to participate in the making of the cobbler, he definitely enjoyed the end product.

Father's Day

Will
This is the first picture I put on my blog, but in honor of Father's Day I thought it needed a repost. I love it because to me it shows a lot of the boys relationship with you. Trey is perfectly content just being with you. He can sit with you and fish and talk just as easily as run around and throw the football. Robb on the other hand (as in the picture) wants to get down and get some action going. He wants you to throw him in the air, chase him around, or tickle him. No one can make him laugh as loud or full as you can. One common denominator is how much they love you. Thanks for being such a great dad.

And to my daddy. All the years of happiness with you could not be condensed appropriately into a blog post so I decided to post you as a poppy. The boys love having you stop by for afternoon visits. Thank you for being a wonderful grandfather for my boys.

CMOM

Last Saturday, Will and Trey braved the sweltering temperatures at the golf tournament. I opted to take Robb to the nice and cool Children's Museum.

We are so fortunate to have such fun things for kids to do in Memphis. I was so fortunate to have some of my nieces and nephews with me. Robb loves playing with them, and they are soooo good with him. They had him all around the museum. One of my favorite parts was watching Robb and his big cousin Preston shopping in the little grocery store. The picture below tickles me because to me baby Preston should be the one just learning how to walk and not the one helping my baby toddle around. My how time flies....

While Robb had a great time being whisked around the CMOM all morning, let's be honest he would have had just as much fun with this group sitting in the grass with nothing to play with. The big kids on the other hand had a ball getting to play with all the stuff they remember from when they were the little kids.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Yes, it is VERY hot in Memphis. But it is so fun to go with my boys to a Redbirds game. Will loves to watch sports, and he always explains what is going on so we can keep up:) He was thrilled that the boys were able to and wanted to watch the action on the field (Trey more so than Robb but Robb enjoyed watching all the action in the stands).
This game was on Memorial Day. During the game, the announcer asked veterans and people currently serving in the armed services to stand up for recognition from the crowd. Trey was super excited to see real army men in the stadium. It was a great way to spend Will's day off.

Green Beans

The title of the post is Will's nickname for Trey and Robb's cousin Hank. Last summer at the beach Hank ate baby food green beans everyday. So the name started Hanky Green Beans now shortened to Green Beans. Anyway we loved having Hank visit us for two whole weeks. Farrell and Hank kept Robb while Will, Trey, and I were in Disneyland.
Then we were back to get quality cousin time.

At times I think my boys were a little rambunctious (ie. bath time) for sweet Hank but by the end of the visit he was splashing in puddles and getting sprayed by the hose. Top five memories from their trip:

Trolley ride downtown

Children's Museum
Splashing
Playing at Gee and Poppy's house
Bath Time-I would not let myself post the pictures but they are funny.

My Blue Eyed Boy

About a year ago we were surprised (two weeks early) with this little angel we have gotten to know as Robb. When we were little, old people always said time goes by so fast. Well clearly now I am one of those old people. This year has gone by in snap. In a short time, we have gotten to see Robb grow from a wiggly baby to a toddler with such a fun and big personality. He loves to be around people, loves to crawl/climb, loves to laugh, loves his big brother.

What a blessing Robb has been in our lives. I am looking forward to the years ahead...I just wish I knew how to slow them down!!
